BOUTIQUE GUEST HOUSE
Nestled amongst the rocky outcrops under Alexandra’s iconic Clock on the Hill, our one-bedroom private retreat allows you to unwind on our Shaky Bridge Pinot Noir vineyard, while indulging in pure uninterrupted views of the surrounding Central Otago landscape.
The historic Shaky Bridge itself is right on your doorstep, and leads you into the town centre - or along the banks of the Manuherikia River where fly fishing awaits.
We want to share our little piece of paradise with you, and our beautiful schist stone family home has a Guest House that is equipped with luscious linens, finest teas and a natural plant-based body care range, making it the perfect place to indulge.
It’s 'town meets country' where the choices for recreation are endless. You can literally plan your mountain biking or hiking adventures out your window.
The 55 sq m guest house is on the ground floor of our family home. Create your own gourmet meal in the galley-style kitchen with its modern aesthetic, unwind in the opulent marble bathroom and then nestle into the king-sized bed, adorned with exquisite Goose Down bedding.
Luxurious toiletries and home care products from Real World NZ and a collection of Storm and India teas are available for your use.
There is also a Weber barbecue in the courtyard for alfresco dining overlooking the Shaky Bridge, and breathtaking views of the Kopuwai Conservation Area.
It is completely self-service and has its own laundry so there isn't any daily housekeeping.
There is unlimited Wi-fi onsite and Alexandra has a number of free hotspots, including the garden courtyard area outside the Unichem Pharmacy and the local library.
Your own private courtyard and lawn area is the perfect place to sit back and relax with a good book and a lovely glass of Shaky Bridge Wine.
The Shaky Bridge Cafe is just a few steps away from your private retreat, where fresh coffee is served daily, as well as breakfast and lunch - complimented by our award-winning wines.
Relax while watching great shows with the Netflix app or stream to Chromecast using your own devices.
Alexandra has its own movie theatre - Central Cinema in the Central Stories Museum, as well as the boutique Clyde Cinema. Or why not lie under the beautiful night sky and do some star gazing? Central Otago has some of the clearest skies in the country.

"This is a brilliant place to stay, a very stylish and comfortable apartment with easy access to a cafe. Perhaps a bit of a walk to town but certainly doable."
